The letter of motivation is a very important part of your application, which will assist the university in learning about your goals and reasons for wanting to study the programme of interest, as well as helping us to get an idea of who you are as an individual. Your letter of motivation must be written in English, and should be approximately one A4 sized typed page in length. Some points to consider are: educational and personal background, motivation for business/tourism studies, career plans, expectations etc.

Bachelor programmes: Please provide 2 recommendation letters. For example, you may ask teachers, counselors or private instructors you have worked closely with while attending secondary school.
Master programmes: Please provide 2 recommendation letters from previous lecturers, professors, thesis supervisor etc.

MODUL University Dubai generally welcomes credit transfer applications. Such applications are reviewed by the Academic Office on a case-to-case basis. After being admitted to the study programme, students are supposed to submit the credit transfer application to the Academic Office for review. Only completed applications will be reviewed so please do not forget to attach your relevant transcripts and course syllabi.

Students who do not meet our admissions requirements for direct entry into the Bachelor degree programmes may consider applying for the Foundation Programme. Admission to the Foundation Programme requires students to have successfully completed their secondary education. Mathematics studies should be part of any secondary school leaving certificate.

To enroll in a Bachelor degree programme, students should successfully complete their secondary studies and submit a High School (Leaving) Certificate, GED or equivalent.

All students whose first language is not English must provide proof of their English proficiency level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages through one of the following tests taken within the last two years.

Students must obtain a score of:

  • APTIS test with a minimum score of B2, held on campus
  • TOEFL Internet-Based Test (IBT) with a minimum score of 76 points
  • TOEFL Paper-Based Test (PBT) conducted at MUD with a minimum score of 540
  • IELTS band score 6.0 (no sub-score below 5.5)
  • Cambridge English Certificate (Cambridge English: First (FCE)): B2

To enroll in the Master of Business Administration programme, students should successfully complete their bachelor studies and submit the following documents:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum duration of three years or completion of an equivalent degree relevant to the content of the study programme
  • A minimum of three years professional experience

Students must also pass a formal admission interview conducted in person or video Skype.

In exceptional cases, admission of persons who do not hold a university degree is possible if they can provide proof of an equivalent qualification. This can be e.g. diploma courses, further education plus extensive and relevant professional experience as well as other career related achievements. In this case, proof of a secondary school leaving certificate must be provided

Founded in 1908, MODUL brand stands for more than 100 years of excellence in education and is owned by the Vienna Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The name MODUL comes from the honeycomb-like structure of the Tourism College MODUL, where both the school and adjacent hotel of the same name are built in octagonal-shaped conjoined 'modules'. The school and hotel are also in Vienna’s 19th district, and were designed and built from 1973-1975. Tailored to meet students’ specific needs, PreparED is a during-school career exploration programme for high-school youth. With hands-on vocational education integrated with life skills, students can benefit from entry-level employment opportunities with local companies and nonprofit organisations. It is designed for high school students starting grade 9 and above “(as applicable)”, the programme features a number of modules combining classroom teaching through engaging, dynamic and fun activities with practical application in real life.
